Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live on another planet? This brochure website can help you learn a little more about the Red Planet, and help you imagine what it would be like to live on Mars.
Did you know that Mars has a diameter of 6,792 kilometers? That is over 4,000 miles, but that is only about half the size of Earth, with a diameter of 7926.4 miles.
Mars is made of many materials, including iron, nickel, sulfur, rock, magnesium, aluminum, calcium, and potassium.
There may be some confusion about who discovered Mars. Though some sources may say Galileo Galilei, Ancient Egyptians and other cultures discovered it over 4,000 years ago(Egyptians called Mars “Her Desher”; the red planet). Ancient Egypt was before Ancient Rome, and well before Galileo Galilei.
Have you ever wondered how Mars got its name? Although Mars was not discovered by these people, the most commonly used name(Mars) originated in Rome, and is the name of the Roman god of war.
